In other words, the question is not whether the construction is correct in a particular passage, but whether using it fits the impression you want to convey.
Thus it may be stated that there is a certain element of necessity in
allowing the original and/or putative composer of the material to
maintain the composition and/or decomposition of words and/or phrases
in the manner in which they were first stated, rather than making
utilization of the technical writing staff for the purpose of causing
changes that may or may not capture the flavor of meaning intended by
the initial authors.
Sure sounds better to me than, "Don't let the bleepin' TW change any
words!"
