<<However, if I'm gonna be lumped in with and used for sales, can I have the
expense account, too?>>

Sure! Why not?!! But with the expense accounts come the following
responsibilities:
1). Know the market.
2). Know the sales process.
3). Know the writing process.
4). Know the personalities of the writers, so you know if and/or when you
are pushing to hard or promising too much.
5). Know the client so you know if and/or when the client has over or under
estimated the scope of the project and his or her ability to remove
obstacles.
6). Accept responsibility and accountability for quotas.
7). Accept responsibility and accountability for errors and personality
idiosyncrasies that happen on a project.
8). Accept responsibility and accountability for finding people jobs when
there aren't all that many out there.

There are other little things, thrown in to the role. I'd like to see how
well the program holds up after 18 months. Referral business isn't magic; it
is earned by every member of the team - including the sales rep.
