Re: Document Review Process
Yesterday, my management asked me to
come up with a system of document review. I'm writing in FM and
everyone else uses Word. For the purposes of this discussion, no, I'm
not switching back to Word and they are not learning FM
I've been in similar situations. My advice: abandon electronic formats for review. Print out the material and hand it to the reviewer with a blue (or red) pencil.
If you object to the fact that you might have to re-enter text from a marked-up copy, I invite you to consider that you can either front-load the review process by spending lots of time coming up with a mutally compatible format, or back-load it by entering corrections from a paper copy. Either way, it's a time-consuming process; make it simple for the reviewer and you'll get a faster turnaround.

"Be a scribe! Your body will be sleek, your hand will be soft. You are one who sits grandly in your house; your servants answer speedily; beer is poured copiously; all who see you rejoice in good cheer. Happy is the heart of him who writes; he is young each day."--Ptahhotep, 4500 BCE
