Subject:MS Word - Version number variable From:"Michael Collier" <mcollier -at- maryland -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 25 Feb 2005 12:33:40 -0700
I'd like to set up a version number variable in a Word template used by
twenty some-odd documents so when the software version changes they can
all be updated easily.
I'm thinking I would define a special character style in the template and
define it with a particular field somehow--anyone know how to do this? I
know how to create a character style; it's making the variable part of the
style that I am not sure of.
When I worked in a FrameMaker shop I think I did this using a character
style with a variable attrbute defined along with it. I'm using Word 2003
now. If anyone does this please email or post the details...thanks
