A while ago someone posted asking about non-STC technical communication
associations.
One such outfit is Baywood Publishing Company (baywood.com). Not being a
subscriber to their Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, and
not having purchased any of their stuff (books on technical
communication topics, mainly, and books on some other topics), I can
only comment on how the titles look to me. It all seems fairly academic
and high-brow, more so than the pubs of STC. The writing and advertising
writing seems outstanding.
