I wonder if "JIT" does not apply in a 'somewhat similar' manner as it does

We are already single-sourcing to the nth degree. For example, one of my client's apps has three flavours, is available to two countries, and has about 50 customers, each of whom has a customized version of the app and customized versions of the three flavours. We have set up conditions for each country, customer, and flavour. At times, it is a nightmare trying to figure out how to set up the conditional tags so that they don't clash with each other.

I think that our problem with JIT help is that although my client wants to implement it, nobody is able to define exactly what it is. While I believe it is the context-sensitive help that you described earlier, someone else thinks it involves having the app recognize the user's customer-defined permissions at login, and someone else thinks it has to do with instantiating help objects at run time. I guess we'll figure out what it is when we all agree on what it is!
