Subject:Re: use cases - what are they good for From:Dharuni Garikapaty <dharuninew -at- yahoo -dot- co -dot- in> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 11 Jan 2005 16:25:26 +0000 (GMT)
My expereince with use cases (with a Java-based
product) is that I have used use cases as starting
point.
Like John says, you dont directly use them in your
documents. However, well written use cases give you an
idea about
- how a feature will be created (what you can do and
wont do)
- the way it would look (helps you figure out what you
would need to document)
- Notes, tips, warning, related features - all these
go a long way in helping you figure out what exactly
you need to write.
I have helped the UI design team with creating dialogs
and warnings, and found that use cases, if written
well and followed/used, can be really effectively
tools.
My two cents :)
