An effective professional does what needs to be done to get the
job done right, and that applies to aggressive behavior as well.
Not aggressive enough, the job goes undone. Too aggressive,
or aggressive behavior unbalanced with other behavior when
being aggressive is unnecessary, and you alienate people.
Learning how to distinguish the difference and act accordingly
is as much a job skill as writing or illustrating, and doesn't
necessarily have to be determined by your personality. But
yes, as with any skill on any job, there are some who do it
better than others and some who can't do it at all. Someone
who falls into the last category might be in the wrong line
of work.
Well, okay, I concede the point that sitting here being introverted and
wallowing in self-pity because nobody's giving me the technical reviews
I asked for won't get me the reviews. But I still feel there's a
distinction between on the one hand trying to be less introverted and on
the other hand making a point of being obnoxiously aggressive. Some
people can pull that off and some can't.
