My default printer is Adobe PDF. (This was Framemaker support's "fix"
for FM crashing when I was doing find/replace operations, and it has
"fixed" the problem. However, that's another issue for another day.

Your problem with Frame reminded me of Acrobat 4.0 releases (1999?), which had crashing problems with Word. Before the update, we somehow knew (maybe from Adobe tech support) that Acrobat and Word *could* co-exist, but only if Acrobat was the final software installed on a Windows PC. IOW, Acrobat-related crashes in Word could be fixed by un-installing Acrobat and then re-installing it.
I haven't seen this problem since Acrobat v5 came out, but I don't use 6 much, or Frame--I just wanted to pass the information/superstition along from 4x/Word.

I googled 'Acrobat Frame crash' to see if anyone has kicked this around in other groups. Here's one case, maybe it rings some bells?

Good luck.

In spite of that being my default printer, that is not the method I use
to create PDFs b/c it disables the hyperlinks in the PDF file. To create
PDFs, I click on the PDF button in Word. It seems this is the only way I
can create PDFs AND preserve my hyperlinks. Other methods, such as
printing to Adobe PDF or dragging .prn files into Distiller, disable the
hyperlinks.

Am I perhaps overlooking another method of creating PDFs?
