I replied to a job ad and got the job. Yes, I have a BS in
Communication, but that wasn't how I got the job (a degree really
doesn't mean much at all anymore, as long as you have *a* degree - and
sometimes *that* doesn't even matter).

Yeah, I applied to a posting for a senior tech writer when I had zero
experience. They liked my "spunk" and I must have won them with my
cover letter, as they opened an entry level job for me on the spot and
hired me.

Ah, good times, good times...
