I was in *exactly* this situation. San Francisco State University took
7 months to get around to counting up my units and determined that I
hadn't met the total unit count requirement for a degree, even though
I had completed the baccalaureate degree program in technical &
professional writing. On my resume, I put "completed the baccalaureate
degree program in technical & professional writing." I don't recall
ever needing to fill out a form that asked me about my education in
which I wasn't able to enter something along this line.
