I see no "offending mistakes" on Jim's site, but I find the writing to be
awkward and unpolished. I suggested an editor because the site markets Jim's
services to potential clients.

No. If I did, I'd get feedback on the drafts before launching the site --
especially if I were using it to advertise my services.

We all make mistakes -- not just in spelling and grammar, but also in
composition, format, tone, etc. My mistakes are usually caught by the
colleagues who review my work (thanks, guys). If I worked alone, I'd find
myself a good editor.
