Speaking of "many trips to the bathroom" when you drink so much water...

I was reminded of a gentleman I met years ago who had worked for some
years as a labor negotiator. Many times, union contracts were resolved
with extended bargaining sessions--and, quite often, there was a great
deal of gamesmanship employed.

He and his partner created a rather unique advantage for themselves.
Following some of the all-night bargaining sessions, when their
opposite numbers had drunk a great deal of coffee and were in some
pain in the bladder, my acquaintance and his partner were still cool
and confident--saying "No, let's get these points resolved before we
take a break!"

What the others did not know is that they both had equipped themselves
with a catheter, so their bladders weren't filling to the point of
such pain!

He laughed when recounting this, saying it is surprising how often the
egos involved made it a sign of weakness to insist upon a break when
it was not agreed to--and how often the negotiation was tilted a bit
because of this very human weakness!
