REMINDER: LavaCon is a "Go" !

For everyone monitoring hurricane Ivan, the storm is predicted to hit land
in the Florida panhandle, well east of New Orleans.

And although the media is having a field day talking about the worst-case
doomsday scenario for New Orleans, the conference hotel says they will get
some trailing-edge rain and wind, but nothing like Florida/Alabama will
get, and most of THAT will be gone by the end of this weekend.

After that, Weather.com predicts BRIGHT SUNNY SKYS for all of next week!

See you at the welcoming reception,

Jack

STORY: SnagIt - Get Anything Off the Screen

~~~~~~~~~~
Dan the technical writer loved using SnagIt. He loved that he could grab
anything off the screen - he could get scrolling Web pages, any specific
region of the screen, any software application and anything on the Web.
He loved it so much that barely a day went by that he didn't think of it.
Which sometimes led to trouble ...
Near the end of an extremely boring and amazingly long staff meeting,
Dan's boss asked, "What's the most important part of your job?"
"SnagIt," Dan said quickly.
His boss continued as if he hadn't spoken. "That's right - teamwork.
What facilitates teamwork?"
"SnagIt," Dan answered.
His boss shot him a look. "How's that?" he asked.
"SnagIt's in the toolbar of all the MS Office products - that's teamwork.
And it's important because it makes me fast - and that's important," Dan
replied.
As his boss paused, Dan said, "Anyone who doesn't have SnagIt, come to my
desk ... MEETING ADJOURNED!"
Everyone fled, whispering their thanks to Dan.
Dan knew his boss couldn't complain - he was a SnagIt-lover himself.
~~~~~~~~~~

Try SnagIt free for 30 days - a new purchase is just $39.95, an upgrade is
$19.95.
