Framemaker tables in text insets

I've used Framemaker for many years, and have often used the File -> Import feature to import graphics. However, I've just started to use text insets, and am having a problem with tables.

The text inset document is formatted as 7.25 x 9.00 inches. It contains a table that stretches from margin to margin.

I want to import this document into other Framemaker documents. Some of the target documents are the same size, while others are 8.5 x 11.00 inches.

When I import into a document that's the same size, the table looks fine. But in the larger document, I want the table to stretch across the wider area, but it doesn't. I experimented with the various options ("Reformat using Current Document's Formats", "Reformat as Plain Text"), with no success.

Is it possible to do what I want to do? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for your help.
