Disappearing Graphics in Word Docs

Hi All:

I have inherited a large number of Word docs that I have to move to
Frame. 99 percent of the screen caps seem to have disappeared in the
Word docs. I think they were embedded in the doc by reference. All that
remains is placeholders for the screen captures which consist of a lined
box where the screen capture was located and a small red x in the upper
left hand corner in the box. 

The docs were created in Word 2002 and I opened them in Word 2003. I
looked at the help and tried a couple of the troubleshooting suggestions
for graphics, but it was to no avail.

I suspect that the links from the doc to the screen caps have been
broken because the paths between the folders where the docs were located
and the folders where the screen caps were located has somehow changed,
though I cant be sure on this. I have tried putting the screen caps in
the same folder as the docs, but this doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Any suggestions?

(And to think, I thought I was home free from using Word!! :)
