Shannon is getting a BS degree in science with a minor
in writing. She's graduating this December. As for a
Master's in writing, my point is that it would be
great for a tech writer, but I can't speak to the
issue of medical writer. Shannon has some medical
experience, and that combined with her schooling and a
possible internship in clinical studies should make
her very marketable in medical writing, based on the
ads I've seen in my locale.

I can only speak of what I know, and that's
pharmaceutical tech writing, not medical writing, and
I did disclose that fact up front. Shannon and I spoke
off-list in detail and I answered her questions about
the pharma industry here in NJ. Shannon is located in
Oregon so I'm sure when she's awake for the day,
she'll get back in on this thread.
