Not that knowledgeable about Arbortext's Epic, but I can tell you a few
things. I think a lot of people use it.

I set up a Workshop (XML, Single-sourcing, and Arbortext) that was
offered by Chicago STC in April (we will have more like it--I'm the
Technical Workshop Coordinator) that was pretty good.

Arbortext is easy to learn and use, I think, it's used as a tool to
format stuff for your Single-sourcing in an XML environment.

Don't know anything about using it with Framemaker, Word and/or Unix.

Contact me off-list for more details. Like I said, don't know that much
about it (only used it for a couple of hours), but I can find out more,
if you have specific questions..
