I'm have a serious problem with PageMaker 7.0 and wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences. First, when I do a "Save As," instead of reducing the file size by dumping links, etc., the file size actually increases. I even totally eliminated everything in a file, saved it over itself and still ended up with an 11 MB file. I should add that this doesn't happen to every file, or every time I save a file over itself. When I reloaded PageMaker, I ended up getting an error message stating that a plug-in could not be loaded with a "Continue" box. Clicking "Continue" sent be back to the desktop. According to Adode, I needed to cleanse the Registry and go for a clean install. I did that, scrubbing the system of any references to PageMaker, PM70 and PM65 and it did the same thing. I ended up cleansing the system again and loading PageMaker 6.5 without a problem, then tried loading a PageMaker 7.0.2 upgrade and ended up with the same plug-in problem. I then moved the PageMaker 7.0 plug-in folder to another drive and copied the plug-ins from PageMaker 6.5 into the PageMaker 7.0 directory. PageMaker 7.0 loaded properly, except whenever I opened a file, nothing showed up on the screen. Moving plug-in's one at a time from the temporary folder back into the PageMaker 7.0 plug-in folder got the files to show up on the screen, and helped me determine the plug-ins that were crashing the system....however, now PageMaker won't imbed two fonts that I need (one is for the company logo). I have never had this problem before and I've used PageMaker since version 2.0. Anyone got any ideas other than taking an eight-pound splitting maul to it?

Incidentally, the system runs Windows XP Pro with Adobe Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, Acrobat 6.0, MS Office 2003 Professional. It's a 2.8 Gig Pentium 4 with 1 GB of RAM and a couple of 80 GB HDs. I am essentially running the same system at home (with earlier versions of Photoshop and PageMaker) without any problems.
