All of a sudden I can't work in X3 for Word 2000. A couple of weeks ago I
was able to, now I can't.

When I start up, I get an error message, then RoboHelp hangs up:

Can't read registry entry AppPath. RoboHelp may not be installed
properly. Re-install blah, blah.

I've re-installed half a dozen times to no avail.

In the meantime, RoboHTML runs fine.

In the registry for RoboHelp for Word, there are two AppPath variables with
the correct paths to the installed application:

AppPath = C:\Program Files\RoboHelp Office\RoboHELP\RoboHELP.EXE
RoboHELP AppPath = C:\Program Files\RoboHelp Office\RoboHELP

I checked the RoboHelp forum and found that the problem is not unique and
that re-installing X3 an infinite number of times *might* fix it.
Uninstalling X3, installing an older version, then installing X3 again
*might* fix it, too.

Does anyone have something more helpful to say?

Does anyone know why migration in the X series is fraught with problems?
This isn't the first one I've had. What makes them worse is that RoboHelp
doesn't know why they happen or how to fix them.
