At first sight, it does look like a globe because it's 3-D-ish and round. So
it's a globe. Nothing wrong with that. And I love the idea of a chip
blending into a piece of documentation--a great way to give an idea of what
we tech writers can do.

That said, it is a little busy for a logo, IMHO. And the smallness of the
document, with all of the different types of documentation (words, graph,
chart, etc.) make it a little difficult to tell just what is going on. Maybe
your client saw all the "busy-ness" and thought at first that it resembled a
globe of the earth, with all its land masses and water. The blue on the left
side could look like water on a globe, I suppose.

If you were thinking about changing it, I'd go with the same
chip/documentation idea, but would do something simpler. It's rather large
on the Web site, but if it's smaller on your stationery, I can see how it
might be a little distracting.
