Sometimes it is a good business decision; sometimes it is a bad business
decision. I think Andrew's point is that information posted here has a
life of its own, and we can't know or control what happens with it. Some
employers _DO_ perform a google-type check on potential employees, and a
consequence of that is not getting the job because something was taken
out of context. I know of one writer on the list who often says how
terrible WORD is as a tool. This writer didn't get an interview at a
company I previously worked for since it was a WORD shop. Fair? Nope.
Legal? Yup. It is still a tough market out there; don't give an
employer any hidden reason to circular file your application.
