I totally spaced this out, but about a year ago I wrote a doc about uploading/downloading info with mobile devices, and that is exactly I how referred to it "Transferring Data to MD" and "Transferring Data from MD." Got my point across and avoided a technical term that, for the purpose of the doc, would have been an unnecessary addition. Haven't had any complaints about it and I have received a few positive comments about the clarity. :-)
