Proposed setup:
Windows 2000. Two computers, one for testing product/software,
one for writing documents. Currently have a 21-inch monitor
on the work machine and a 19-inch monitor on the test machine.
NEW work/writing computer to have dual-monitor configuration.
Should it be possible to share a monitor between ONE output
of the dual-monitor card, and the test computer, via a KVM
switch, without causing any problems with the dual-monitor
system?
Those of you who have dual monitors on one PC (not MAC),
what happens if you just switch one monitor off and on at
odd intervals? Does it disrupt anything? (I'm assuming
that that's what using the KVM would do.)
I don't expect problems, but I'd hate to get everything
purchased and then find that it won't work properly.
There's just not enough desktop real-estate for a third
big monitor (we've downsized, and have spares, so no,
I won't be getting a flat-panel display).
