Information architecture is the art and science of organizing information
so that it is findable and usable. It deals more with organization of
information, not the creation of it. So IA is not simply a form of tech
writing. For references, see http://www.boxesandarrows.com and
http://www.aifia.org. Also see http://www.iawiki.net/IAwiki and
http://www.info-arch.org/lists/sigia-l/index.php

Think library science meets interaction design.

Hope this helps.
