Would you mind holding forth on your reasons?

I'm pretty agnostic on the subject -I work with reasonable regularity in both
WYSIWYG and markup language, and I'm comfortable with both. So I'm interested
in why someone would have strong views on the subject. I also think that if
you're going to convince anyone of your views that you need to do more than
suggest that they're inevitable. What do you think the rewards of switching are
to the average writer?
