Hiring a technical editor?

Another good source, depending on where you're working, might be the 
Editors' Association of Canada (www.editors.ca) or the copyediting-l 
freelancers list (http://ce-l.technology-corner.com/freelance.html). 
For that matter, depending on the work, I might be interested in 
discussing it now that I'm freelance. Drop me a line (details below) if

If you're paying the shot, you should be treated with the respect due 
an employer, and you get to make the final decisions. But on the other 
hand, there's much to be said for a good working relationship between 
peers. There's a large difference between being a leader and being a 
tyrant.
