John, I have news for you too - most marcomm is not for 100 million dollar products. Your extreme counter-example is a logical fallacy that I used to know the name of.

Anyway, it's not news to me... I briefly worked on the propoaal for the RAH-66 helicopter; the budget had more zeroes after it than I can count (recently cancelled, BTW)... I can assure you that document was not typical marcomm. All the claims were backed up by engineering documents written by engineers.
