John,
Back in 1994/1995, I worked for Starbase and was on the
design team for the first version of StarTeam. A couple of
years ago, my first gig as a contractor was to document the
(then new) customized workflow functionality in the product.
As a doc manager, I used StarTeam for my group when the devs
were using Clear Case on Unix and it didn't run on Win2K.
While I realize that I have a slight emotional attachment to
the software, it's a nice app. It does version control,
defect tracking, threaded conversations, and workflow mgt,
and it includes a web interface for remote workers.
Borland bought Starbase in late 2002, so you can go to
www.starbase.com and get redirected or go to www.borland.com
HTH!
