One of the things I've noticed is that, often, a degree is a pretty
flexible thing. With a little work and the right opportunities, it is
easy enough to start out with a degree in one field and end up doing
something totally different.
For a while I worked for someone who did mostly fire statistics. He
started out in animal science.
I couple of years, my tech writing career got sidetracked by a position
in corrections doing offender research. I started out in engineering.
My predecessor had a background in veterinary medicine and epidemiology.
A friend of mine does web design. Her degree is in drama.
