Hi, guys...for those out there using Vmware to run applications that you
are documenting:

Got VMWare installed yesterday with XPPro as the guest host. We have an
OS site license, so licenses aren't an issue.
Very cool stuff.

My question: I have three different applications I'm documenting, so I
want to create 3 virtual machines, each application on it's own virtual
machine.

So, it took about an hour to install the OS. Right now, it's a clean
install with no applications, just OS. Before I dirty-it-up with
applications, is there a way of replicating that virtual machine instead
of creating each new one from scratch?

John,

Whatever the answer to that question turns out to be, AFTER you install the VMs but BEFORE you install any applications on the machine, run Ghost on it. That way you will be able to recreate a clean environment with three VMs and no applications any time you need it. Particularly in a development environment, where an early version of an application can do a number on its environment, this will be a worthwhile backup to have.
