See, that's the difference between being practical and thinking ideally.

Practical is good. It pays the bills. I like staying warm and dry in the
rain and the fog, eating semi-regular meals, surfing the Internet, and
watching "The West Wing" and "The Shield."

But please don't let it entirely take the place of my idealism. I'll always
want to make things better for people. And I want to be able to believe that
it can be better. (Kinda in line with the sig of the moment, eh?)

Besides, the idealism also keeps me from being compacent in the field.
