That's a really impressive device (does he need a tech 
writer?), but I don't believe it could *launch* a washing 
machine, which was to be one of the test-loads for the 
scaled-up trebuchet.

A weekly Canadian TV show has a small-scale version of 
the air cannon in the URL that you supplied. Every week, 
they pick a political or other target, stuff the cannon 
with icky stuff, and blast an effigy of the target.
