I've never used Jaws to create PDFs, but...
Assuming you have Acrobat and not Reader...
Open the PDF, alter the view to how you want it to look when it's first
opened, and then save the PDF from within Reader.
Also, edit the file's preferences (from the File menu) to set other default
view properties.

::: I want to make a pdf.file with bookmarks so that if a user
::: opens that file
::: the screen shows not only the first page of the document,
::: but also the
::: bookmarks levelled to depth 1.
::: I use Jaws pdf.creator (version 2) and one of the
::: possibilities under the
::: bookmarksettings is: 'automatically open bookmarks in the
::: .PDF document to
::: depth: 1.
:::
::: When I create the file and opens it in my browser, I only
::: see the document
::: itself and not the bookmarks. After manually opening the
::: bookmarks, it
::: shows all bookmarks to depth 3.
::: What am I doing wrong or is the problem not the
::: pdf.document itself but the
::: configuration of the Acrobat Reader?
::: Please send me a mail if you have or know a solution.
