Both spellings are used in the US. British dictionaries
list "dialog" as an American spelling. Its appearance
would not cause confusion to a British reader.

What *would* cause confusion, in American English
*or* British English, would be using the two spellings in
the same text to mean different things without making
the difference absolutely clear and explicit. And even then
it would be risky.

This is not a localization issue; it's about disciplined writing.
