Unfortunately, most versioning systems don't play well
with binary files. What you end up getting is a stored
copy of each file and not the stored diff. So, if you
check in a 1MB file 10 times, you just chewed up 10MB
of space.

Documentum works, but is expensive. I haven't heard of
many others that work well with stuff other than
source code.
