Re: Writing Costs Worldwide
I never said they were government workers. I said they were offshore employees working on U.S. Income Tax Returns. The manager of the group working on the returns stressed the high security of his operation and that no U.S. citizen's personal information was compromised. <snip>
No security mechanism is absolutely secure. All it takes is for one key, no pun intended, employee to get: PO'd; or to surrender to temptation and all your info is mine.
Remember now you, read this first here. Someone soon will be burned by outsourcing, domestic or foreign. It is sheer madness to tie mission critical operations to the fiscal stability of a company over which you have no control. No exit plan can get the company out from under fast enough so that the company will not suffer severe harm. Eric would properly admonish me if I strayed and discussed the potential political ramifications of a foreign government having some of our key industries by the proverbials, so I won't go into that topic.
The best answer I can see is to make it clear to your clients/employers, that you are competing on service, not price and that the service is well worth the difference.
