You could always use a macro. Something like this...

Selection.Style = ActiveDocument.Styles("Heading 1")
Selection.InsertBreak Type:=wdSectionBreakOddPage

Then, assign the macro to a button. Instead of clicking Heading 1 in the
styles and formatting frame, click the button. Same number of clicks, with
the result you want.
