I used 2 different ones and I had the same problem...

MSXML 3 and XMLSPY's built-in parser.

Both give the same result with special characters and I do not believe
XMLSPY uses MSXML cause it does stuff the other won't.

In which XSLT processor?

Sounds like a bug in the particular XSLT processor you are using.
