It would be even better if you could Fn'R a field with a field.
Short of writing a macro, the only way I know of is to put the replacement
field on the Clipboard (cut or copied), then do your search and replace
like this:
Find What:
^d REF whatever
Replace With:
^c
You could also record a sequence of keystrokes to make simple changes (like changing REF fields to PAGEREF fields, for example); but your task may be more compex than that.
