If anybody has used the Paper Capture feature in Acrobat 6, please help me
out with a sanity check here.

I downloaded the Acrobat 6 trial from Adobe... when I used the Paper Capture
feature, ZoneAlarm alerted me that the application (capserve.exe) was trying
to connect to the Internet. Naturally I blocked it, and Paper Capture didn't
work (it did some processing and then quit, saying it couldn't connect to
the "Capture Recognition Server."

Then unplugged my cable modem, and tried Paper Capture again, allowing it to
try to connect to the Internet - it still didn't work.

So, my sanity-check questions:

- If you are using the trial version of Acrobat 6, are you experiencing the
same thing? (i.e., does Paper Capture request an Internet connection?

- In the regular (non-trial) version of Acrobat 6, does Paper Capture
request to connect to the Internet?

I wonder if the Internet connection is part of the Paper Capture
functionality? Or is it phoning home to track usage for the trial copy? Or
am I just doing something weird locally that makes it look like it needs an
Intenet connection?

Please feel free to cross-post this to a more appropriate forum.

thanks

Mike O.
