Well, it looks like that is exactly what happened in Florence - unemployment
dropped 2.2 percent because 1700 people just melted out of the workforce.

During the period in question the number of unemployed people dropped by
1600. But the workforce dropped by 1700. I may be going out on a limb here,
but I'm guessing a lot of those 1700 people bugged out for the big city.
Either that, or they just stopped looking for work altogether.
