I have been a professional musician for more than 25 years. Despite
enjoying some success in that field, the mid 90's found me trying to feed
my kid by playing drums and emceeing in a South Florida biker bar
frequented by ex cons and Ku Klux Klansmen (no exaggeration).

See above. Anything would be better than that. My brother, an engineer at
Microsoft, recommended that I give tech writing a try. So I went back to
school, worked hard, got lucky, and the rest is history.
