This isn't exactly rocket science. If you want to compete in a global economy,
you don't get to play by your own rules; you have to COMPETE, rather than being
awarded contracts or perks because you happen to be in physical proximity to an
employer or client.

The issue is not whether poor, underpaid workers in other countries are being
exploited; it is whether or not the US can actually compete in a global
marketplace. Protectionist legislation, import restrictions, and visa
restrictions all add up to one thing--isolation. A controlled, spoon-fed
economy catering to a restricted market may seem desirable in the short run,
but in the long run it is simply an admission that US workers and US companies
cannot compete successfully in a global marketplace.

If you can't build better widgets at a competitive price, or you can't provide
quality skills and services at a competitive price, get off the playing field
and polish up your burger-flipping skills.
