Technical Writing for Dummies was mentioned by another member, I would
agree with that, but I found its alter ego, The Complete Idiot's Guide
to Technical Writing to be better. As for a newbie tech writer's book, I
would recommend "The Tech Writer's Survival Guide." It is not written in
the shiny happy language found in the Dummies or Idiots line, but
provides good info.
