In Word XP, when you right-click on a word, a list of synonyms is available.
Synonyms for "pr" (lower case) are popularity, image, public relations,
image management. There are no synonyms for "s".

So, the plot thickens. Could there be hidden characters in there that are
causing the problem -- are "pr" and "s" considered valid words for some
reason?

David...I did a simple copy/paste and copied your paragraph
to a Word document on my machine, removed the quotes and ran spellcheck. It
did not flag them for spelling on my version, v2000, either.
