No. The question was about what to do about the dilemma, not whether to consider the dilemma at all. Maybe I misunderstood the remark but "Writers are paid to write" sounded to me like "Close your eyes and stop thinking about it."

It is one thing to express your opinion and quite another to attempt to curry favor with the boss by tattling on a co-worker -- unless you work for the STASI, or something.

If the original poster had wanted to curry favor with her boss, asking about the problem here on the list would have been unnecessary, wouldn't it? I find it inappropriate to assume ulterior motives in the face of contradictory evidence.
