Bonnie...the question was posted with very little explanation, nothing about
why, nothing about what it would be used for. When you throw out a vague
question, it's up to the list's imagination on how to respond...and you know
what kind of imagination we have. Don't look at us if 100% of the responses
went one way and you wanted another...we're ALL wrong?

Yes, we're technical writers...but we're not mind readers. We're subject to
the same misunderstandings that any of your document readers are subject to.
Give us guidance and we'll give you intelligent answers. Give us none and we
won't use any intelligence.

I do not understand what you mean by "the multiple responses."  How do
responses determine the intent of the poster?

WIth such a short message as mine was, one takes into account the subject
heading and the body text in determining intent. I was fishing for real
interest in reading about particular subjects. I knew I was risking humorous
responses, but I believed at least some would take into account the entire
post.
