Mutually contradictory (in my opinion). I don't believe timed tests are
capable of selecting the best person for a job as a knowledge worker.

Who said only low-quality jobs were offered through recruiters? We were
talking about timed tests. Sure there are high-end recruiters, but I doubt
the offer timed tests to their executive search candidates.

Rightly or wrongly, I associate timed tests with clerical temp work and the
resulting dime-a-dozen mentality the agencies and employers have toward
candidates. Not that there's anything wrong with clerical temp work; I've
done my share in the past, and I'd do it again if I had to.
