Outlook and OE use IE to render the HTML in the O/OE message.

I don't use Outlook or Outlook Express precisely because they *and* IE are
security nightmares. Thus, I am operating from memory here.

However, what does the version of IE have to do with the abilities of
Outlook or Outlook Express?

My understanding is that this is true for version 5.x of IE. if you upgrade
to 6, that capability has been removed.
